Sophia Black has been taking gymnastics on and off for eight years. While living in Indiana, she started coaching younger kids when she was thirteen years old. After moving to South Carolina, she started working at Acrosmith Gymnastics at the beginning of her senior year. She remembers a humorous event when she was teaching younger girls their routine for a showcase to their parents, and the girls had completely forgotten the routine, leading her to quietly whisper each step to help the girls perform. Sophia says that she enjoys teaching younger kids because of their cuteness and enthusiasm, and her favorite event is the floor, which involves tumbles, back handsprings, and front flips.
