Today, April 24, 2026, it is time for us to take a stand. A stand against the injustice of the fate of all cat-owners, against the despotism subjecting our carpets and floors to vile treatment. Today we will stand as a nation to rebel against this societal norm and transcend above the cultural conformity that has gripped our nation. Ladies and gentlemen, today we stand against… hairballs. Yes, it’s that time of year, everyone’s favorite day… National Hairballs Awareness Day!

As you and your feline friend pawse to give this day its due significance, maybe try to correct this misbehavior. Before you begin your revolt against hairballs, make sure you are properly empathizing with your pet’s need for regurgitating swallowed hair, and remember to assure your cat that they are understood and welcomed even with this slight setback in your relationship. If you or your cat need a safe, non-judgmental environment, maybe consider a therapist, or if you need bonding time, a massage. Now remember, we are not fighting against our cats, we’re fighting for our carpets, lint rollers, and overpriced vacuums. Now go forth, and may your floors be ever in your favor.
