Man has always been enamored with the idea of the moon. From poems to rockets, we have dedicated ourselves to trying to understand its mysteries. In 1962, JFK said that we would be on the moon before the 70s. And we were, in 1969. The Apollo 13 mission was to land men on the moon, and they did. While we beat the Russians to the moon, the whole country was watching and waiting alongside of the three men who went. On April 17, the astronauts safely landed in the Pacific Ocean, where they were rescued and proclaimed heroes! They were the first three out of twelve astronauts to walk on the moon. As we think about the recent launching of Artemis II, we wonder if this number will increase, and if it does, what that will lead to. Could we be seeing the revival of the moon and a new generation of technology furthering exploration of space? We’ll see.
