On the weekend of President’s Day, I had the exciting opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. and perform at the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts with the Young Artist Orchestra division of the Greenville County Youth Orchestras. We enjoyed a time of fellowship with other musicians at the Capital Orchestra Festival, and we also went sightseeing to all the historical landmarks and monuments. The Young Artist Orchestra also got the chance to perform the world premiere of a commissioned piece by none other than the Fine Arts Center Composer-in-Residence Jon Jeffrey Grier. However, above all, we were able to glorify God through the making of music.
