George: Did you know that the creation of Strawberry Lemonade was an honest mistake?

Melvin: Can't say that I did.

George: Well, the legend goes that in 1859 a man named Pete Conklin worked at the Mabie Circus making lemonade for spectators. During an afternoon rush he ran out of water and quickly found a bucket of liquid in a nearby tent. The moment he saw the "pink lemonade" he knew he had made a mistake, and hoping to make a bad thing better, he began claiming the new exciting beverage as "Strawberry Lemonade."

Melvin: Where did the bucket come from?

George: A circus performer's red tights had been soaking in the bucket Conklin used.

Melvin: What are your thoughts on Seuss?

George: He's a pretty groovy cat!

Melvin: My thoughts exactly, but do you know of the Seussonian Multiversal Neumo-Dynamic & Psychonomy Theory?

George: Please enlighten me.

Melvin: This theory states that all of Seuss's works are not only connected physically and/or psychically but are also somewhat biographical. For instance, many of his works are the delusions and dreams of a singular central character (possibly him or a representation of him [Seuss]) such as "What I saw on Mulberry Street" or "If I Ran the Zoo..."

George: Right, right...

Melvin: ...The genius, however, is not only in these Easter eggs but also in letting some of these fictions of fictions have contemporary stories such as "Horton Here's a Who," "Horton Hatches the Egg," and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." These and many more articulate the pure genius of America's favorite children's writer, who may or may not have unwittingly illustrated an entire imaginative universe for his many colorful characters all thought up by a young boy who lives quietly in the mind of the author. He is the one who observed all these things and wrote them down for years to teach the next generation many lessons that would be put to good use no matter where the road of life led them.

George: ...Right... I think I understand.

Melvin: This, of course, is only the first paragraph of my 372 page thesis on this event.

George: Hey Mel, where do you think police cars came from?

Melvin: funny story about that actually. The first occasion that a police car was actually used was in 1899, when a sergeant in England quickly borrowed a Benz to pursue a man selling fraudulent circus tickets for the Barnum and Bailey Circus.

George: Man, High Octane.

Melvin: Yeah, they got up to about 12 mph.
